About Us

Who are we?

The Oxford LARP Society (OLS) exists to run Live Action Role-Playing (LARP) events in and around Oxford, UK.

History

Prior to March 2020, weekly linear LARP was one of the many roleplaying offerings of the Oxford University Roleplaying Game Society (OURPGSoc), a student society of the University of Oxford. Despite being a student society, this event was also popular with ex-student alumni and friends in the Oxford area, as well as current students. OURPGSoc LARP went on hiatus from March 2020 onwards due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2021, OURPGSoc took the decision to split the weekly linear LARP out from the student society, and form a separate society unaffiliated with the University, in order to better support the participation of those not currently students of the University. That society is OLS. OURPGSoc continues to run other roleplaying events for University of Oxford students, while OLS now runs LARP for anyone and everyone.

In recognition of this history, OURPGSoc is an Affiliated Society of OLS, and its members get free access to OLS events.
